Daily Update - 12th May

As you can imagine, everyone has been working very hard today to try and make sense of the announcement about schools possibly starting to admit more children from 1st June. Southampton Local Authority are working together with Ofsted to produce further guidance to local schools and once we know what this looks like for us, we will update you.

Despite what certain elements of the press would have us believe, all schools have been open throughout this period albeit for critical worker children and most (like us) were open throughout the Easter holidays and intend to stay open over May half-term. We would like to pay tribute to all our staff who have been working extremely hard in very difficult circumstances, trying to coordinate online learning, social care, support for our families etc while at the same time home-schooling and caring for their own families. They have certainly not been having a long holiday!

Tomorrow is the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, a devotion which was very close to the heart of the late Pope John Paul II. You can read the story of Our Lady's appearance here. Pope Francis has reminded us about praying the rosary during the month of May and you will find his letter to the faithful attached.

We hope you enjoyed Mrs Ames' reading of Poo in the Zoo.Tomorrow Mrs Hales is back with a story about a boy who doesn't always tell the truth ...
