Daily Update - 22nd April

We hope you enjoyed Mrs Archer's reading of the The Smartest Giant in the World today. Tomorrow Mrs Dineen reads us one of her own poems that has been published! Don't miss it!

Just a reminder that we would still love to receive all your photos and pictures through email (support@st-patricks.southampton.sch.uk). If the children put them on SeeSaw only the class teacher can see them, but if you email we are able to share with the whole staff who love to see them and send back messages.

Tomorrow is St George's Day, our national feast day in England (also in several other countries) and is also the day in Catalonia, Spain where men and women exchange books as a token of their love! There are plenty of dragon-related activities for the children including:

Send us photos of whatever you come up with!

From the Hampshire Educational Psychology Service

From April 20 our Telephone Support Line will also be available for parents / carers to access for any queries relating to the emotional wellbeing of the children they are caring for. You can call them on 01962 876 239. They also have a collection of resources which they will send if you call them.

The Maths Factor!

Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman is teaching maths daily and there are lots of other great maths activities on this site:

It's being offered free during the school closures.

Google Arts and Culture

This has a whole host of wondrous virtual tours and activities which the children are sure to love:

"Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten"

Neil Gaiman (English author)
