Meet the Governors
Our Governors are appointed to meet specific criteria for their category of governor: Foundation, Local Authority, Staff or Parent. Our twelve current governors introduce themselves here.
Chair of Governors
Steve has been a Foundation Governor since July 2016, having been a friend of Elizabeth Kenny (previous headteacher)’s and a fellow parishioner at Immaculate Conception, Portswood for some 30 years. A retired Accountant, living in Bitterne with his wife, Sue, they have 4 grown up children living in the Southampton area who attended Springhill, St Anne's and St George. Steve has a Theology degree and has done voluntary work, mainly with the youth and the homeless for 40 years, running Catechetic Programmes for Sacraments, Adult Formation and Prayer in parishes. He currently runs a youth club, a Sunday Lunch Project for the homeless, Cafod workshops in schools, does Street Pastoring in Southampton and runs prayer and liturgy groups. He is especially interested in religious education, questions of poverty and cultural diversity at St Patrick’s and in contributing to all our aims for an Outstanding School, sharing Jesus' example of Love.
Kieran is a Foundation Governor, joining in July 2010. All three of his children were previous pupils at St Patrick's with the most recent leaving in July 2020 and his wife is currently a teacher in the school. Kieran works for Bupa Dental Care having experience in project and financial management.
Tomasz was appointed in April 2021 and has two children at St Patrick's. He and his family are parishioners at St Patrick's Church.
Michael joined St Patrick’s as Headteacher in September 2017, having worked as a headteacher and school advisor in various areas over the past 10 years.
Louise is a Foundation Governor joining in June 2011. She has a nine year old daughter and is married to Warwick Payne, who is one of the councillors representing Woolston on Southampton City Council. Louise worked for nearly seven years as a journalist for Newsquest, writing primarily for the Hampshire Chronicle, but also the Southern Daily Echo and the Romsey Advertiser. She now works for Hampshire County Council’s Corporate Communications Team and has been in this role since December 2008. Louise used to attend St Patrick’s School, as did her brother and sister, and is a parishioner at St Patrick’s Church, where she was married in 2009 and where her daughter was christened in May 2012.
Andy has been a parent governor since the summer of 2019, he has one child attending St Patricks in year 6, he also has two older children who both attended St Patricks but are now at St George in years 8 & 10. Andy runs an early years setting in Weston and is the Governor linked with Foundation at St Patricks.
Carly is a Year 4 teacher and has been at St Patrick's since 2018.
Simon was appointed in December 2020 and has a son in year 4. Originally from Solihull, Simon and his family have been living in Southampton for just over 2 years. He has worked in the hospitality industry for all of his life and has spent several years working abroad and at sea. With 2 daughters at St Anne’s, his wife and children are practising Catholics, all with links to the Philippines. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, football, music, history and travel.
Fr Ross Bullock
Fr Ross was born and grew up on the Isle of Wight, which is where he first felt called to be a priest; he read Theology and Sociology at St Mary’s University College, London, followed by a successful career in education for twelve years teaching in both London and in South India. He was ordained a priest in June 2016 at Portsmouth Cathedral by Bishop Philip, having completed his seminary formation at Allen Hall Seminary in London. After his ordination the Bishop asked him to be the Assistant Priest at St Joseph’s and St Edmund’s City Centre Parish, Southampton, working under the guidance of Monsignor Canon Vincent Harvey. He served the City Centre Parish for two years and during this time he was also the Priest Chaplain to St George Catholic College and Springhill Catholic Primary School. After two years the Bishop asked him to be one of the Assistant priests for the Parish of Jersey, working with Canon Dominic Golding. After three years as an assistant priest, he was moved back to Southampton in 2019 to become the Parish Priest of St Patrick’s Woolston and Annunciation Church, Netley and now finds himself as the Priest Chaplain to St Patrick’s School which has always had close links to the parish church since it was built.
Antonio was appointed in December 2018 and has two children at St Patrick's.
Suzanne was appointed by the Governing Body as an Local Authority Governor in September 2021, following a period as an Associate Governor. She has two twin boys at St Patrick's.
