Attendance

St Patrick's Catholic Primary School works closely with children and parents in connection with attendance in order that each child can achieve their full potential.  By law, all children of compulsory school age must receive a suitable full-time education.

Once your child is registered at school you are legally responsible for making sure that they attend regularly.  If your child fails to do so, you risk getting a penalty notice or being prosecuted.

Poor school attendance has a huge impact on:

  • your child's learning

  • your child's friendships

  • your child's self esteem and confidence

THE MINIMUM EXPECTED ATTENDANCE FOR A CHILD IS 97%

Holidays during Term-Time

Absences for the purpose of a holiday within term- time are NOT permitted.

If you wish to take your child out of school for any reason please call in at the School Office for advice.

Timekeeping

Timekeeping is also important in your child's education.  If your child is persistently late for school they are missing out on important instructions and work at the start of the lesson.

REGISTRATION IS AT 8.55AM. ALL CHILDREN ARE EXPECTED TO BE

IN THE CLASSROOM AT THIS TIME.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR CHILD IS LATE YOU WILL BE ASKED THE REASON WHY.

Please can we also remind parents that school finishes at 3.10pm or 3.20pm depending on year group. Please ensure your child is collected promptly. If you are going to be late collecting you MUST telephone the school office to let us know.
