School Lunches

Food and drink in school

We have a school kitchen on site and children are able to have a hot school meal or bring in a packed lunch. All Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children are entitled to a free school meal every day.

School Meals:

We encourage payments to be made online through Arbor.  If you need assistance to do this please contact the school office.  Payments can also be made by cash or by cheque (made payable to ‘Southampton City Council’) in advance on a Monday morning.  Payments made in this way should be sent in to your child’s class teacher in an envelope marked with their name, class and the amount of money enclosed.

Meals are cooked to order and must be ordered by 9.30am every day so, if you know your child is going to be late for school and you wish them to have a school meal, you must phone the office to order it before 9.30am.

Packed lunches:

We have a Healthy Eating Policy and, for this reason, no fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate bars are allowed in school. Please ensure you pack a balanced lunch for your child.

There are a number of children and adults in school with profound nut allergies and, for this reason, peanut butter and obvious nut products are not allowed.  Please check the labels of any snack bars you may be adding to your child's lunchbox.

Snacks at playtime:

All infant children are offered a piece of fruit or vegetable everyday as part of the government’s ‘Free Fruit and Vegetable Scheme’. Children in the Juniors are encouraged to bring their own snack for playtime but this must be fruit or vegetable (no nuts).

NB: We have a number of children with serious food allergies and intolerances so please do not send cakes or sweets in to school for sharing on occasions such as birthdays.

Water bottles:

We encourage all children to drink water throughout the day and a water bottle may be kept in class for that purpose. Water bottles are provided to each child at the start of each school year. Replacements are available to buy from the school office or you may provide your own. Water bottles must be clearly labelled.

All our school meals are provided by City Catering Southampton.  Visit their website here

The current cost of a school meal is £2.95 per day.

We use ARBOR for our online payments, you may access it through your Arbor parent portal - payments.
