Well we have reached the end of the half-term! It has certainly been one of the most unusual and challenging times for most of us in education, but it has been wonderful to see how well the children have adapted to the changes and restrictions that have had to be in place. My thanks of course to all the staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure the children have an uninterrupted education and a happy time at school.
I have to make a special mention of our new Foundation Stage children - I cannot believe how quickly they have settled into school and are learning new things (already starting to read and write after 6 weeks!). All credit to our fantastic Early Years Team.
Staff Changes
We say goodbye to Mrs Shahid, one our of midday supervisors, who is relocating with her family to the middle east and to Mrs Caws, teaching assistant - we thank them for all their hard work and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
Parent Consultations
I hope the phone consultations were helpful and gave you an idea of how well your child has settled in this year. If you didn't get a chance to book a slot, let us know and we will arrange one after half-term.
Harvest
Thank you for your most generous contributions of food - the Basics Bank have now taken them away and they will be a great help in their efforts to feed those in need.
Fr Ross was delighted to celebrate his first live-streamed Mass with us in 6KW earlier in the week and it went surprisingly smoothly! A few parents managed to join us and we are hoping to stream the next one on the school website if we can sort out the filtering issues.#
Holiday Meals Provision
I think most of us were very disappointed that the government voted not to maintain free meals over the half-term holiday, something which makes a huge difference to many families. If you know of any family in need, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
School Twitter
Our school Twitter feed is now back in action (thank you to Mrs Adams), so why not Follow us @StPatricksSoton
Sunday Gospel
The Gospel this week continues Jesus' explanation that the greatest of all the commandments is Love and that it is the basis of our whole faith. If you are not able to get to Mass, there is a selection of virtual Masses listed here:
Have a lovely half-term break and see you on Tuesday 3rd November (Reminder - Monday 2nd is a Staff Training Day).
