Daily Update - 22nd June

Thank you for your responses to the form about returning to school in Phase 3 - we are currently working out what is possible and for those who have requested school places, we will be in touch soon with what we can offer.

Yesterday was the longest day of the year and this week we look forward to a bit of a heatwave with temperatures forecast to reach 28 degrees on Wednesday! A great time as the lockdown eases to enjoy the outdoors.

Keep listening to our serials read by Mrs DIneen and Mrs Metcalfe and tomorrow Mrs Thomas reads us a heartwarming story about a little star.

STEM Academy Scotland

Mrs Whitten has attached a poster about the STEM Academy Scotland (although it is also linked to Portsmouth and is online!). This is a series of workshops and activities aimed at Y5 and above for which the children get a certificate on completion. It's definitely worth a look and great to get the children interested in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

Could you volunteer?

Southampton City Council are looking for volunteers to help steward School Streets, where a road with a school closes to motor vehicles at the start and end of the school day.

School Streets help to improve air quality, encourage more exercise, reduce congestion at peak times, reduce road traffic collisions and provide space for social distancing.
