Year 6 went back 80 years this week to the 1940s! They become evacuees, soldiers, land-girls, ARPs and even a tank and helped organise a WWII-themed party in the church hall for local residents.
The advance guard helped set up the hall, lay the tables, put up the bunting and then were on hand to welcome guests, show them to their seats and serve them food and drinks.
Then the main body arrived, ready to entertain the troops with some old favourites.
Hey Mr Miller
The White Cliffs of Dover
We'll Meet Again
And finally what a great swinging dance number to finish off with!
The children and their guests had a wonderful time and we hope to do something like this again soon.
